Queens Birthday Celebrations

On Friday 24th July The Oval School celebrated the Queens 90th birthday.
Throughout the week year 2 were learning about the 1970's. We learnt about different toys that children had in this decade and also who was famous during this decade. We then wrote a fact file about this person, who was........Margaret Thatcher.

Throughout the day we took part in class assemblies and observed the cakes that each class had made. In the afternoon we had a lovely picnic on the playground and watched performances of different songs from throughout different decades. What an extremely enjoyable day!

Punctuation Police

Year 2 have had their extended pieces of writing examined by the punctuation police. If you forget to use capital letters and full stops correctly in your writing then you get issued with a fine.

At the end of term the following children were issued with a prize for receiving no fines from the punctuation police.

Well done Jaicey Ali and Ibrahim Hanif! ;)

Easter bonnet parade

Well done to everyone who made an Easter Bonnet for our parade. Unfortunately due to the weather not being kind to us we all had to parade our lovely bonnets in the hall.

A huge well done to Jack Kelly for his winning Easter Bonnet. It was dinosaur themed as Jack loves everything about dinosaurs!
